New Addiseo’s Investment to boost their presence in Aquaculture in Asia

Adisseo has signed an agreement with Calysta Inc. (USA) – the world’s leading alternative protein innovator – to establish a 50/50 joint-venture (JV) named Calysseo to develop FeedKind®, an innovative feed solution for aquaculture.

The JV will be based in Hong Kong to develop this opportunity for the long run and will enjoy manufacturing & marketing exclusivity for Asian markets.

The deal will also see the construction in China of the world’s first commercial FeedKind production facility, expected to start operating in 2022, delivering 20,000 tons of FeedKind protein per year. A second phase will follow to bring an additional 80,000 tons of capacity.

This strategic investment in new disruptive technologies nourishes their ambition to develop a major business, supplying sustainable feed ingredients and additives for aquaculture across the Asian markets which represent USD28 billion​ and 70% of world market. Protein alone represents a potential market of USD 8 billion in Asia and growing by 5-6% every year.

The company have also been investing significantly to develop an R&D aquaculture station in Singapore, which opening has been celebrated last December. It will be fully dedicated to developing innovative and sustainable feed solutions for aquaculture to seize further opportunities in this market.

The innovative technology of FeedKind® will also provide additional opportunities for Adisseo to tackle the dual challenge of meeting the world’s need for healthier, safer, affordable and sustainable food for tomorrow while at the same time contributing to protect planet’s resources.
