What poultry companies are facing due to the sharp rise in prices and what options are available to them will be the theme at this year’s International Poultry Conference on the day prior to the trade fair. Each day, the ‘Pig & Poultry’ forum will be offering expert presentations on current issues concerning poultry farming.
DLG Spotlight ‘Whole-farm Livestock Management Concepts’ in hall 26
This year, a range of possible whole-farm livestock management concepts for pullet husbandry that aim to give consideration to animal welfare, cost-effectiveness and environmental aspects will be presented at stand B06 in hall 26.
In this thematic focal point, different concepts can be discussed with experts on the basis of animal housing and farm models. The working group for this special show was launched on the initiative of the German Association of Chambers of Agriculture and the alliance of the State Institutes and State Offices for Agriculture at the end of 2018 and is supported by the Federal Office for Agriculture and Food (BLE) and the Federal Information Centre Agriculture (BZL).
International Poultry Conference and exclusive evening event
In keeping with tradition, the poultry industry will be extending an invitation to the International Poultry Conference in the Convention Center (room 1B) one day prior to EuroTier on 14 November 2022 – the highlight for all professional visitors from the poultry sector.
The sharp increase in production costs due to high purchasing costs on the raw material and energy markets will form the focus of the keynote presentations and the subsequent panel discussion. How can the effects of the global crisis be mitigated for the affected companies?
The exclusive industry meeting, the International Poultry Event, will start in the Convention Center (room 1) from 7.30 p.m. Admission is by personal invitation. The professional conference and the industry meeting are being organised by DLG, the European Poultry Club (EPC) and Zentralverband der Deutschen Geflügelwirtschaft e.V. (German Poultry Association – ZDG).
Current topics in the ‘Pig & Poultry’ forum
Focal topics for pig and poultry farms will be looked at in the ‘Pig & Poultry’ forum. Aspects such as animal welfare, resource efficiency and pioneering husbandry systems in changing climatic conditions are on this year’s agenda. The issue of ‘Specialisation or diversification?’ will be discussed for farms in export-oriented countries. Innovative approaches for dealing with avian influenza will additionally be presented.
The events in this forum will be translated simultaneously into German/English using subtitles or will be conducted in English, thus making the forum an important source of information for international visitors, too.
